Weissenbachtal - circular route via Mondsee

Wonderful road bike tour

This moderately flat road bike tour with an elevation gain of approx. 1000 metres leads from Fuschl am See to St. Gilgen, where you can enjoy a fantastic view over Lake Wolfgangsee. After Strobl, we follow the old and less frequented Wolfgangseestraße towards Bad Ischl on an almost flat route along the Wolfgangsee. The route continues briefly through the old cultural town towards Ebensee. After a short distance from the main road, we turn left into the Weißenbachtal valley. A slight climb followed by an undulating course leads us through a forest to Lake Attersee, which we pass to the south. Our tour continues along the north-east shore of the crystal-clear Mondsee. After cycling halfway round the lake, we finally return to Fuschl am See on small paths via Thalgau with a long but easy climb.
